Over halfway there: The #WER19 Roadshow so far

The Women in Entrepreneurship Roadshow has now surpassed the halfway mark of its cross-European journey to reach, connect and help in the growth of at least 300 women entrepreneurs in the European and US ecosystem.

Over the last 6 months (March – September) the #WER19 Roadshow has stopped off in Madrid, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; Brussels, Belgium; Sofia, Bulgaria; Bucharest, Romania; and Copenhagen, Denmark, leaving a trail of innovative inspiration in its wake, and has awarded $2,988,000 worth of AWS promotional credits valid for 2 years ($1,800,000); AWS business support ($900,000); and AWS training ($288,000) to 180 selected women founders, offered by one of our main partners, Amazon.

In addition to this, we have been able to shed light on some of the key issues and topics currently affecting women in entrepreneurships, such as gender-bias; access to finance; constructing and landing a successful pitch; and how to make the VC pipeline more inclusive for women entrepreneurs, with insightful panel discussions from 38 different speakers . As well as offering #WER19 Roadshow participants a chance to speak to and gain project advice from 63 top mentors , who have kindly shared their insider knowledge and tips with them.

We have also hosted multiple representatives from the United States and Dutch diplomatic missions who provided an interesting look into the GES and YTILI programs, and transatlantic collaboration between Europe and the United States; with the centralised aim to provide the tools and support that will allow women entrepreneurs to grow and prosper in the EU and US ecosystems.

Having reached our 60% mark , the Women in Entrepreneurship Roadshow remains committed to our three goals: to connect 300 high-potential women founders with leading US and European VCs; identifying the main challenges and barriers in access to fund at a regional and a pan-European level; and raising awareness to the specific challenges that women in entrepreneurships face.

Our next roadshow stop will be Budapest on the 7th and 8th November 2019 , so be sure to keep an eye on our website and apply for our upcoming events!
