After the outstanding success in Madrid, Woman in Entrepreneurship Roadshow finally landed in Lisbon. The capital city of Portugal has hosted the second of 10 events across Europe. The goal of #WER19 is to connect 30 women entrepreneurs with VCs and top players in the European and the US ecosystem in order to facilitate them to access finance and knowledge.

The WER Jury had a very hard time in selecting, among the 60+ applicants, the top women entrepreneurs that will participate in the event.
The 30 selected female founders have received $10.000 of AWS promotional credits valid for 2 years, $5.000 of AWS Business Support and $1.600 of AWS Training offered by Amazon, a main partner in the project.

In Lisbon, the participants succeeded in getting to know the high-level participants from the Portuguese ecosystem through a networking session on Thursday night.

On Friday, in the very well located Beta-i offices, the founders were able to connect and get inspired by the top investors in Portugal, with a VC Panel starring Rita Baptista Marques, the CEO of Portugal Ventures, Sofia Santos, Venture Developer with Faber Ventures, Stephan Morais, Managing General Partner with Indico Capital Partners, Claudia Almeida e Silva, Business Angel and Former Fnac Southern Europe CEO and Eduardo Sette-Camara, Head of Acceleration at Beta-i.

After the VC Panel, we welcomed Herro Mustafa, the Deputy Chief of Mission, US Embassy in Portugal and Christianne Bleijenbergh, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Portugal to talk about transatlantic cooperation. But that’s not all, WER19 has managed to gather top mentors to support the entrepreneurs into growing their project on different subjects, from Finance to Marketing, from Operations to Public Relations. The female founders shared knowledge and participate in a speed-mentoring session with more than 10 top mentors such as Paulo Ribeiro, Diversity & Inclusion Lead Partner at PwC Portugal.

Woman in Entrepreneurship Roadshow is going to support the growth of 300 female founders and Lisbon is only the second stop of a journey that will touch 10 different European countries. Don’t forget to check our website and apply for the upcoming events! Our next stop will be in Brussels, the 8th May 2019.
